cell-mediated immunity ne demek?

Cell-mediated immunity (cellular immunity), which is also known as T cell-mediated immunity, is a type of immune response that is mediated by T lymphocytes (T cells). This type of immunity targets intracellular pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites that have infected host cells.

In cell-mediated immunity, antigen-presenting cells (APCs) present antigens to T cells, which recognize and respond to specific antigens. Upon activation, T cells differentiate into effector cells that mediate the immune response. The effector T cells include cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that can directly kill infected cells, helper T cells that secrete cytokines to recruit and activate other immune cells, and regulatory T cells that suppress the immune response to prevent harm to the host.

Cell-mediated immunity is critical for controlling infections caused by intracellular pathogens, and it plays a role in transplant rejection, tumor surveillance, and autoimmune diseases.
